Q: What are Historical Leagues?
Historical Leagues is FanCraze's free-to-play game mode where cricket legends from different eras compete in fully simulated matches. Build your team using officially licensed historical collectibles, enter Match Challenges, and compete for rewards—without relying on live fixtures.
Q: Which Historical Leagues are available?
There are currently two Historical Leagues:
- ODI Historical League
- T20I Historical League
Each league has its own player pool, tournament format, and Match Challenges.
Q: How do Historical Leagues work?
Historical Leagues use FanCraze's proprietary simulation engine to recreate matches between legendary cricketers. Every match is influenced by factors such as pitch conditions, venue, weather, player matchups, and team strategy, creating a unique outcome every time.
Q: How do I build my team?
Historical Match Challenges use a 6-player lineup with open slots.
You can select any combination of batters, bowlers, wicketkeepers, or all-rounders and assign 2x, 1.5x, and 1.25xmultipliers to maximize your Game Points.
Q: Can I edit my lineup after the match starts?
No. Once a Match Challenge begins, your lineup is locked and cannot be changed.
Q: When are Playing XIs announced?
Playing XIs are typically announced 2–3 days before each simulated match, giving you time to research, build, and submit your lineup.
Q: How long does a Historical match last?
Each simulated match runs for approximately 30–45 minutes.
During the simulation, you can follow:
- Ball-by-ball commentary
- Live score updates
- Player Game Points
- Full scorecards
Q: What factors affect match outcomes?
Historical matches are influenced by multiple variables, including:
- Stadium and venue
- Pitch conditions
- Weather
- Day or night conditions
- Dew
- Team matchups
- Player strengths and weaknesses
These factors influence both match results and individual player performances.
Q: How are Game Points calculated?
Game Points are based on your selected players' performances during the simulated match. Once the simulation ends, multipliers and any applicable In-Season Bonuses are applied to calculate your final score.
Q: Do older Historical collectibles still receive In-Season Bonuses?
Yes. For the current season, eligible Historical collectibles released between 2022 and 2026 receive the same In-Season Bonus based on their rarity.
In-Season Bonus rules may change in future seasons.
Q: Will Historical Leagues change over time?
Yes. Historical Leagues continue to evolve with simulation engine improvements, new collectibles, seasonal progression requirements, and additional historical content released throughout the season.
Q: How does the Historical simulation engine work?
The Historical simulation engine recreates realistic cricket matches by considering a variety of match conditions, including pitch, venue, weather, player matchups, batting orders, bowling strategies, and game situations.
The engine is continuously updated to improve realism while preserving each player's historical strengths and playing style.
